Originally designed in 1959 for the U.S.A.F. as a compact survival rifle for use by pilots who have been shot down, the semi-automatic AR-7 fires .22 long rifle ammunition from an 8-round magazine. While not especially accurate due to its short 16" barrel, the AR-7 is lightweight (just 2.5 lbs.), reliable, and can be broken down and reassembled without tools.
